Alexander & Cleaver is so proud to announce that on February 1, 2022 Jason was sworn in as a Judge on the Orphans’ Court for Prince George’s County — a part time position that will enable Jason to continue to represent clients and practice law with A&C. He was appointed to the position by Governor Larry Hogan.

There was a good, but limited, in person crowd due to Covid protocols, with an overflow group of friends, clients, family, and supporters joining by Zoom. Jason was gracious in his remarks and thanked, among many others, Gary and Jim, Todd, and all of the A&C support staff over the years for their help and guidance. Jason’s wife, Cathy, and his three-year old twins, Jalyn and Jaden, were on hand, along with many of the County’s elected and appointed officials. Gary Alexander summed it all up afterwards noting: “Jason DeLoach started with A&C 27 years ago as an unpaid intern. Jim Cleaver and I knew he would succeed, but as time went on Jason wasn’t just an outstanding lawyer — he showed how life should be lived as an outstanding person. He will be an asset to the Court, and godsend to the people who appear before him.”

Pictured above are Chief Judge Wendy Cartwright and Judge Athena Malloy Groves presiding over Jason taking the oath from Mahasin El Amin to become a member of the Orphans’ Court that deals in Estate, and Probate issues. He will continue to practice law and represent clients as the Vice President and Senior Litigation Attorney with the Law offices of Alexander & Cleaver.
