Home / Videos / Do I need a lobbyist when the general assembly is not in session?

We like to tell clients that it's very important to have government relations assistance all throughout the year because a great time to have meetings is throughout the summer where things are just a little bit slower of a pace, so you have time to really sit down with legislators and educate them about issues that we're pushing during the faster paced, more frenetic general assembly session. Another reason we like to say it's a great idea to have lobbyists that stay engaged all throughout the year is we do several events throughout the year. We go to the Maryland Association of Counties, we host policymaker events with the governor, his cabinet, and other members of the general assembly who are key decision makers. Really touching them, and getting to know them, and building relationships with them throughout the year, is a great way to have them remember you and your issue when they're much busier during the legislative session.
