Cas Taylor was appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley as the chair of a new seven member commission that will look at the sustainability of public employees and retirees' benefits. The continuing fiscal realities prompted this look at the affordability and long term sustainability of these benefits. Cas accepted many challenges during his 28 years in the House of Delegates and as Speaker, and with A&C, but there is nothing more difficult politically than talking about pension or benefit costs. House Speaker Mike Busch and Senate President Miller endorsed the work of the committee. · Gary Alexander was selected as one of the winners in the 2010 Daily Record's Leadership in the Law Awards and will be honored at a luncheon in Baltimore. The annual award was created in 2000 to draw attention to Maryland's legal professionals -- lawyers and judges --- whose dedication to their profession and to their communities deserve particular recognition. For over 40 years Gary has provided great strategy, advice and advocacy for clients as a member of the Maryland, District of Columbia and Virginia Bar Associations.
