J. Kenneth Battle, Jr. joined the Government Relations Team of Alexander & Cleaver
in December 2003.Kenny is a graduate of Central High School in Prince George's County
and Morgan State University in Baltimore, where he earned a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Accounting.

Kenny’s background includes an 18-year career in state and local government. He began
his career as a Legislative Auditor with the State of Maryland, and later with Prince
George’s County. In 1987, Kenny joined the Prince George's County Council as a budget
analyst, and quickly rose to the level of Legislative Director. In this capacity, Kenny
provided research and analyses of transportation, housing and environmental issues. He
also provided financial expertise during the Council’s review of the annual operating and
capital budgets of county government, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission
and the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission.

Kenny served as Special Assistant to the Fire Chief and Public Affairs Manager for
the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department and served as Associate Director of
Legislative Affairs for Prince George’s County Executive Wayne Curry in Annapolis.
He has also worked with the Maryland Emergency Number Systems Board as a Fiscal
Coordinator and as a policy analyst for the District of Columbia Board of Education.

Kenny’s area of focus include:
Energy, Transportation, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Education and Workers Compensation. He provides valuable expertise on operating and capital budget issues as well as procurement, assisting clients in securing funding and contracts at the state and local levels.

Kenny lives in Glen Dale, Maryland
