James “Jim” Cleaver is the senior partner of the Law Offices of Alexander & Cleaver. Jim
co-founded the firm in 1984 with Gary R. Alexander. He works primarily in the field of civil
litigation, heading up the firm’s personal injury practice. In that role, Jim is the firm’s primary
negotiator and litigator in personal injury cases, using his vast experience and knowledge
acquired over parts of the past 5 decades to achieve results for clients. It was no surprise to
colleagues and clients that Jim has been designated a Super Lawyer in personal injury cases, was
named one of Maryland’s top trial lawyers, and was selected by the prestigious Million Dollar
Advocacy Forum.
As a compliment to his law practice, Jim frequently speaks to various groups around the State.
Recently he spoke to members of the Metropolitan Washington Auto Body Association on how to resolve disputes with motor vehicle insurance companies.
