Community Associations and Memberships Member, Sigma Chi Alumni Association
Isaac N. Meyer joined Alexander & Cleaver in October 2009 following his tenure at Towson University, where he cemented a student legislative advocacy program over several years on behalf of its Student Government Association. When he first undertook his role in government relations at Towson University, the student body lacked the institutional presence in Annapolis that other universities within the University System of Maryland had solidified over previous years. At the end of his two terms as Director of Legislative Affairs, Isaac had appeared in over 20 articles in publications including the Washington Post and Baltimore Examiner while providing numerous testimonies on behalf of the greater higher education commission.
In his capacity as Director of Legislative Affairs, Isaac strengthened his connections with senior leadership within the University System of Maryland and cultivated relationships with champions of higher education. Isaac is recognized as drafting the first student-driven legislative agenda in Maryland which has now entered its fourth year of publication. Additionally, Isaac made it to the final three applicants to serve on the University System of Maryland Board of Regents.
Today, Isaac leverages his relationships in Baltimore County and the General Assembly on behalf of Alexander & Cleaver’s clients, particularly working closely with the firm's non-profit base. Additionally, Isaac monitors Maryland's State Operating and Capital Budgets through the legislative process from attending agency testimony early in session to tracking final budget decisions as Sine Die nears.
