Opening Day is Now One for the Record Books.

Alexander & Cleaver hosted the 17th annual opening day reception to welcome back the legislature to Annapolis. While the weather was cold, we were blessed with plenty of sunshine and no wind so that made it tolerable for hundreds to make it to our office. We had a truly packed house with so many members of the House and Senate that it was too many to count. We also had many of the loyal staffers join us for the event and we were glad that they could enjoy the festivities. Members of the Governor's staff and numerous county council members were with us during the afternoon. We had several candidates for Governor at our event, including in alphabetical order, LT. Governor Anthony Brown, Harford County Executive David Craig, and Delegate Heather Mizeur. We also had their running mates, Howard County Executive Ken Ulman, Delegate Jeanie Haddaway Riccio, and Pastor Delman Coleman. Peter Franchot, the Comptroller joined us as well as Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, Prince George’s County Executive Ruhsern Baker, and Ike Leggett, Montgomery County Executive. We also were pleased to have Senate President Mike Miller join us to chat and share some updates about the expectations for the Senate in 2014.
