An overflow group of clients and friends turned out to meet and hear from Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot for our policymaker lunch in the conference room of our Annapolis Office. The Comptroller is known for speaking his mind, and he had a lot to say on procurement, the Board of Public Works, craft beer and alcohol regulation, and a whole lot more.
Peter served on the House Appropriations Committee for 20 years prior to becoming Comptroller with A&C’s Gary Alexander & Cas Taylor. He hasn't changed a bit --- smart, creative, great sense of humor, and hardworking! How hard working? Over his 12 years as Comptroller he has logged 750 thousand Maryland miles! He was bullish on revenue estimates and the current Maryland budget surplus. There was much, much more. It was time very well spent.
