The Maryland General Assembly adjourned sine die on April 7 at midnight, which meant that Alexander & Cleaver hosted our Annual Sine Die Party. We had wonderful guests and our office was filled with happy clients, legislators and staff with whom we worked over the last 90 days. Governor Martin O’Malley stopped by and spent about an hour with us. Comptroller Peter Franchot also attended. John McDonough, Maryland’s Secretary of State, and Secretary Dominick Murray, the head of the Department of Business and Economic Development, joined us as well. Elliot Schlanger, the governor’s director of Cyber Security, attended as well as many members of the House and Senate who will not be returning to their respective seats including Senator Jim Robey, Senator Jennie Forehand, and Delegate Jon Cardin all of whom will be retiring.
Just because the Session is over doesn’t mean there aren’t things to accomplish for our clients! Contact us today to discuss post-session strategy and other ways to move your business forward.
