We are very excited to announce that Barbara Zektick, has joined our firm and is now working for our government relations clients. With her government relations/lobbying and legal experience, she will be an immediate asset to all clients of the firm. Barbara’s most recent position was with the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo), where she represented the elected officials and staffs of Maryland's 24 Counties and Baltimore City -- and this is a short summary of what she did there:
Represent county governments before Maryland General Assembly on transportation, economic development, procurement, fiscal, taxation, and budget issues;
Program educational conferences and seminars for county officials;
Regularly develop quantitative and qualitative analyses, written policy papers, testimony, legislation, and blog content on issues of relevance to local governments;
Serve as primary liaison to Association and General Assembly for county administrators, budget and finance officers, procurement officers, and engineers.
Barbara's past experience is pretty amazing: Worked for the Mayor & City Council of Baltimore as General Counsel and Acting Deputy Director in the Department of Transportation; State Legislative Analyst in the Office of Policy and Government Affairs in the Secretary's Office of the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), and numerous civic and legal activities after graduating from John Hopkins University and American University Washington College of Law. We are confident she can use her great experience and skills for the benefit of our clients.
